Gatte ki Sabzi

Ingredients:
Gram flour (besan) 1 cup
Turmeric powder ½ teaspoon
Red chilli powder ½ teaspoon
Salt to taste
Soda bicarbonate a pinch
Carom seeds ½ teaspoon
Oil 4 tbsp
Water to knead

For the curry:
Oil 2 tbsp
Onion chopped finely 1
Ginger 1"
Garlic 2 flakes
Tomato 1
Tumeric 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds 1.5 tsp
Dhania powder 3 tsp
Chilli powder 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste

Preparation:
Gattas:
Mix gram flour, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, soda bicarbonate, carom seeds, oil. Add a little water to make a stiff dough.
Divide into six equal parts and roll into cylindrical shape. Cut into two inch pieces.
Cook in two cups of boiling water for ten to fifteen minutes. Drain. Let the gattas cool a bit.

For the curry:
Heat oil. Add cumin seeds.
When cumin seeds start to splutter add ginger, garlic and chillies.
When the paste turns golden brown, add oninos. Fry onions till golden brown.
Next add tomatoes, fry till oil separates.
Add turmeric, chilli powder, dhania powder and salt. Fry for 1 more minute.
Add water. Let it come to boil.
Add gatte and heat for 5 more min
Garnish with cilantro, before serving.
